Biography

Emilie Heckel joined Oncodesign Services (ODS) in November 2022 as Study Director and Head of the Montreal Research Unit. Driven by her strong client focus and growing interest in the business side of scientific research, she transitioned to Business Development in April 2025 and is now responsible for the Canada and USA territories.

Emilie holds a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology, obtained in 2013, and completed several postdoctoral fellowships in cardiovascular diseases and neuronal energy metabolism at the Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC) in Strasbourg, France, and at the University of Montreal, Quebec. During her academic career, she also held positions as Laboratory Associate and Metabolomics Platform Manager at CHU Sainte-Justine. She subsequently moved into industry, working first as a consultant and then as a Senior R&D Scientist at a Montreal-based startup specializing in women’s health.

Passionate about science and committed to advancing high-quality research, Emilie brings a strong combination of scientific expertise, project leadership, and client engagement to her role. At ODS, she initially led the Montreal Research Unit and, since moving into Business Development, has focused on establishing and managing studies for North American sponsors while fostering international collaborations around ODS research programs.
