Prof. Miriam Colombo obtained her Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry and Technology from the University of Milan in 2008 and earned her PhD in Biology in 2012. She is Full Professor of Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Milano-Bicocca. Her research focuses on the development of nanoparticles for biomedical applications, with particular emphasis on nanomedicine for the treatment of breast cancer. Her work encompasses the design, characterization, and biofunctionalization of innovative nanocarriers for targeted drug delivery and cancer immunotherapy. She has also investigated alternative administration routes for nanoparticles and biomolecules, including oral and topical delivery, for both pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications. Prof. Colombo is the author of more than 130 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has an h-index of 41.
