Biography

Dr. Yanping Zhang is a Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees from Fudan University in China and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, USA. Dr. Zhang performed post-graduate training at UNC-Chapel Hill, and he became a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Texas in 2000. Dr. Zhang moved his laboratory to UNC-Chapel Hill in 2004, where he moved his rank to full professor in 2010. Dr. Zhang has made important contributions to cancer research through many groundbreaking works on the tumor suppressor p53. His work has been published in
high-impact journals such as Cell, Science, Cancer Cell, Molecular Cell, and PNAS, etc.
