  • Title: Establishment of a Predictive Model for Liver Metastasis Risk after Laparoscopic Radical Resection of Colon Cancer using a Line Chart

Abstract

Objective: To construct a column chart prediction model for the risk of liver metastasis after laparoscopic radical resection of colon cancer, and to explore the clinical significance of this model. Methods 89 colon cancer patients who underwent laparoscopic radical resection of colon cancer in the hospital from September 2018 to December 2023 were selected as the study subjects. According to the specific situation of liver metastasis, they were divided into a liver metastasis group (n=31) and no liver metastasis group (n=58). Clinical data were collected on gender, age, tumor location, tissue type, TNM staging, depth of primary lesion infiltration, lymph node metastasis, tumor deposition, tumor size, CEA, postoperative chemotherapy, blood transfusion, and obstruction from two groups of patients, analyze the influencing factors of postoperative liver metastasis in colon cancer, and use multiple factor Cox regression analysis to determine independent risk factors, establish a column chart prediction model for the risk of liver metastasis after laparoscopic radical resection of colon cancer, and validate the model.

Results The analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in TNM staging, postoperative chemotherapy, tumor deposition, tumor size, lymph node metastasis, and obstruction between the two groups of patients (P<0.05); The results of multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that TNM staging ≥ stage III, tumor deposition, lymph node metastasis, and obstruction were independent risk factors for liver metastasis after laparoscopic radical resection of colon cancer (P<0.05), postoperative chemotherapy was a protective factor.

Conclusion: The column chart prediction model for the risk of liver metastasis after laparoscopic colon cancer radical surgery has high accuracy and discrimination, and can provide a more accurate prediction of liver metastasis risk for patients after laparoscopic colon cancer radical surgery.
